Amanda, I have horrible IBS and I have tried most of the drugs for this.
I have not tried the new one that you mentioned however. Bentyl and
that did nothing. Zanax I hear works for some people but it does as you
say cause you to become sluggish. My friend who takes it has built up a
tolerance and seems to do ok on it. Do you watch what you eat? I know
that mine kicks into overdrive when I eat certain things like salad,
corn, bread (because of the yeast as Mariah said)red peppers, and my
favorite anything fried or greasy. If you can keep a journal of the
foods you eat for a couple of weeks and you can get a good feeling of
what will cause you to have the problem. Hope this helps.
