Hi Amanda, I am going through a similar struggle presently. Only a good doctor can tell you if Zelnorm might be right for your situation, but in my own *personal* experience, taking Zelnorm actually worsened symptoms instead of making them better. It threw my whole digestive system more out of whack than it was to begin with.

One very basic thing, which you have probably already considered - ibuprofen, especially the ectra-strenth Motrin that many doctors prescribe for Endo pain, is very hard on the digestive tract. If you've been taking ibuprofen regularly for more than a few eeks, it could be a contributing factor. Also, certain mendication can make the effects ofthe ibuprofen on you stomach/digestive tract worse. Also, I have not personally been checked for Candida overgrowth of the digestive tracts, but I know that a yeast-free diet has been said to help in cases where there is Candida overgrowth in the digestive tract.

For me, whenever my system is really bad, I drink 3-4 cups of strong ginger tea a day, and before eating, I take entric-coated peppermint oil capsules -- these I found at my local health food store and bought in desparation when the Zelnorm wasn't doing anything -- they worked much better than the Zelnorm!

Anyways, that's just from my own personal experience... i'd be interested to hear what other folks suggest... -M
