is this mittelschmerz?

I am a 41 year old woman with endometriosis. I don't take anything for it; I have a lap about every three to four years. It is generally controlled when I follow a low fat, fiber rich diet and exercise.

I have always been pretty regular, though they're getting a little less so. I gotmy period on 9/12 and yeterday, 9/23, started experiencing what I usually attribute to be mittelschmerz, from which in the past three or four years I suffer pretty badly. In any case, my period in September was very unusual for me: while sometimes my cycle will be as short as 23 days, it's never as short as this: 19 days. So, this pain started 11 days after the beginning of my last period. Could it still be mittelschmerz? I am concerned because I don't remember ever having that short a cycle, and even with endometriosis have always been pretty regular. I am assuming, however, that I am approaching menopause and am perimenopausal.

I am seeing my doc tomorrow. Any helpful info you could provide would be great! My pain is the typical sharp pain of ovulation, on the left side, and radiating to my back, and not a little gas. It hurts to defecate.
