Yes, it becomes frustrating when the pill only puts the most minor dent in the pain. And the mental drain of fighting with the pain is real -- focused breathing seems to help me sometimes. I try advil sometimes for the off cycle pain, but it really doesn't do a thing for me and I go way overboard with it trying to do something with the pain, so I have basically given up on advil for now. Usually you gradually and as slowly as possible upgrade painkillers to deal with pain aspect. Also try ginger tea for the nausea effects -- it helps -- I drink it generally just for the nausea endo effect. What is AF? Having spent 5 hours this morning battling the pain and finally resorting to a painkiller, I can say they are very necessary sometimes.
So just ask her if you can try it. It should help more -- I actually found the ultracet better than vicodin, doesn't make sense but true for my body. Good luck,
