Re: Continuous Birth ControlFrom: Amy (anonymous@obgyn.net)Wed Sep 17 09:39:56 2003
I take continuous bc for my endo and it has seemed to help me somewhat. My pain is not as intense or as frequent, but it is still there. I have had several laps, did lupron, tried various kinds of bc, etc. Continuous bc was the next thing to try for me. I didn't want to do Lupron again, although I felt great when I did take the shots and had few side effects. The long term effects of Lupron are too scary. So I have been doing the continuous bc for about a year now. It has not given me my life back 100% but I have to say that now I am at least not in pain EVERY day, more like every other or a couple times a week. I have been "forcing" a period every four months per my doc's suggestion. I have to say I love not having a period every month. My periods have always been bad, so at least not having one every month has been a blessing. All I can really tell you is give it a try and see what happens. I am just muddling along for now, as I know another lap is in my near future, but for now the continuous pills are least postponing surgery. If you ever want to talk more about it feel free to email me direct. Hang in there! Amy
