Pansy, Boy does your surgery ring some bells. My first doctor did
almost the exact same thing. About the breathing treatment, sometimes
nurses will give you a breathing treatment if they suspect that your
throat or lungs were irritated by being intubated (tube stuck down your
esophagus) during anesthetia. It has nothing to do with the doctor and
more to do with the anesthetiologist. It's kinda just a better safe
then sorry treatment after being put completely under. It doesn't mean
that anything went wrong. When I was diagnosed I was only 17. My doc
opened me up, saw oh it's endo, sewed me back up and told me to come see
her when I was 18 so we could start Lupron. Uh....how about no. Be
very wary of any doctor who forces a treatment on you. It is your right
to decide what you want put into and done to your body. Now about the
post-op pain. Adhesions could be causing your pain. Anytime any
surgery is done some scar tissue will form. I have adhesions all around
my intestines that cause a lot of pain. However doctors can cut them
out in a laparoscopry. Doctors can also remove endometriosis through a
laparoscopy. Mine did. Here is my opinion about surgery. If you can
stand it, wait a while to give your body time to heal from the first
surgery. The more frequently you are put under anesthetia, the more
complications can arise. But many surgeries are performed within days
of each other. A reason why you might have not received a bowel prep is
that your old doctor felt unable to do any work on the bowel, which
probably was a good thing. As much as I would love to lose weight like
that, that amount of weight loss should always be a concern. Signs of
bowel or stomach problems are hard to diagnose by outward apperance. I
am scheduled for a colonoscopy to examine my bowel and make sure the
endo hasn't invaded it. My suggestion would be to visit a
gastroenterologist. They can help much more than obs when iot comes to
problems of the digestive track. I hope this helped ease you mind
somewhat and please let me know if you have anymore questions.
