Matt,

It is so refreshing to see a partner so eager to help and research. Your fiance is truly blessed to have you.

First, her worries of infertility. Yes, the doctors make it seem so scary flashing this word around so carelessly. I too went through that stage. I, actually, started to push my partner away because I didn't want to take a life of children from him. But, here are some statistics that may help the two of you feel better about having children...

Only 30% of endo patients can not concieve. That leaves an amazing 70% of us able to have babies. As long as she is ovulating, the only other thing that could stop her from getting pregnant is blocked tubes (which, in most cases, can be fixed by an endo specialist that also specializes in fertility....for a list of doctors go here http://www.geocities.com/endovictims/endodocs.html)...or if she is one of those that can not conceive b/c a chemical produced by the endo does not allow the fetus to attach to the uterus wall (this other 'condition' is merely a theory...but wanted to throw the possibility out there).

Many women with endo have had children. Susan Sarandon had endometriosis for years...she got pregnant...then got pregnant again...and yet again, once more...she has 3 beautiful children...and her endometriosis went into remission. Now, not everyone that gets pregnant does that - it is in no way a cure. There isn't one, as you most likely read. There are, however, treatments. For a list of common ones, check out this website...

Also, since you are so interested in helping her...and this will be affecting your life as well...I'd like to tell you of a support group specifically for men that love women with endometriosis...it is called MENDO. Here is the link...

Good luck in your search. I will supply you with some websites that are all correct in information....
