Re: if anyone can help me about the bladder problems? From: Kristy (anonymous@obgyn.net)Fri Aug 29 17:04:38 2003
Hi all, I thought I would jump in on this discussion too. I went to another OB/GYN on Tues for a second opinion to try and find out what's causing all the infections I keep having. Well, during the visit when she did the pelvic exam she also felt all areas of my vaginal wall and oh did it ever hurt. Come to find out that it's my bladder. In 2000 my dr thought I might have had IC b/c at that time my bladder had hurt a lot for several months but we later figured out that (I did any way) it was stress related. I had also told her that if I'm going to have problems with my bladder it will be b/c of endo not IC but I am now in a situation where I may be forced to have to accept IC as a diagnosis but where the problem will then come later is on the issue of meds b/c the meds that are used for IC (except a certain few) I can't do. The thing that I didn't like about this second opinion visit was that the dr said that since it didn't bother me then I need to just deal with it but I don't agree. I don't have the classic symptoms of IC but that doesn't mean that I don't have it so I'm going to be seeing a urogynecologist to have all that checked out in the hopes of not only finding out what's causing all the infections I have but hopefully help me keep my pain medicine and maybe ease some of the problem so that I don't hurt as much. And of course deal with the endo on the bladder if it's there. Kristy :)
