Re: Do any of you experience . . . . .From: Melissa (anonymous@obgyn.net)Fri Aug 29 14:21:48 2003
Hi Katrina. I had menstrual pain only during my teens and early 20's. By the time I was about to take the Lupron shot (age 26) and had had one laparoscopy, the pain was pretty much constant, only offering relief the week after my period. Having intercourse would blow that week right to hell. I think that because of the scarring and also the location of some endo spots, pain can happen at any time. I had some on my bladder which hurt while it expanded. Oh and soy and coffee really aggrevated it. Just an FYI, if you ever take Lupron, read all the posts about the negatives first (there will be a lot). I'm on week 12 of the 3rd shot and have had debilitating joint pain since that shot. I'm on steroids just so I can function. AND I've been on estrodial addback + progesterone. Just a word of warning. AND since we've upped the estrodial again, I'm getting mild endo pain. Excision seems to be the best way to go, but only with an experienced Endo surgeon. If yours is just offering pain pills, he/she is masking the symptoms and doing nothing to stop the progession of this painful disease. I think you are right to find another doctor. More advice than you asked for but good luck and take care, Melissa
