Re: 4 daysFrom: Brett (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sun Aug 24 20:35:50 2003
Kristen- I think of it this way. I had the surgery to find out whether or not I had endo, and unfortunately, I do. But imagine what could happen if you didn't find out and treat it? Since it's becoming an increasing interest to the medical world, endo treatments are improving all the time. If you left it alone without getting help, you could find many of your organs completely overtaken by endo tissue. I started having trouble when I was 16 (ovarian cysts) and had seriously awful cramps and periods, but I thought it was because of the cysts. It wasn't until my last period (in May) lasted 45 days that I knew something was really wrong. Because I got this thing taken care of now, when I'm 20, I may still be able to have children. Others aren't so lucky. Hopefully you have found a knowledgeable and understanding doctor. My doctor has really pulled me through this, she's the best gynocologist in Chicago and talking to her about every symptom, every pain, every urinary or bowel problem I have, helps me feel like someone really cares about getting me better fast. Good luck. You're not alone.
