Concernced something is wrong with me, would like your opinionFrom: Anne (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sun Aug 24 04:41:36 2003
Hello, My general state of health: - I exercise a lot (train for triathlons), but am definitely not too thin (135-140 lbs at 5.6). - I don't smoke or drink, but do have one or two cups of coffee a day. My concerns: - I'm 33 and have been married for 6 years now. I have been experiencing pain during sex for the past 3 years, about 80 percent of the time. It is only with full penetration. - My periods have been fairly regular except that they seem to be getting longer and more painful. I am more bloated for a longer period of time and experience cramp-like symptoms even when I'm not on my period. I've also been having more and more problems with acne (only on my chin). - The last three months my periods have become irregular (about 10 to 15 days late). During the 'late time' I have cramps every day, as though my period is going to start, but it doesn't. - I have never been on the pill, we use other forms of birth control. We've been living in France for nearly two years now. I was too chicken to go see a doctor about my pain while we were still in the US. In France the pain just became worse, so last April I went to a doctor. She did an ultrsound and said everything looked normal. She only saw an enormous vein, she said that could cause the pain or it could be ovulation. Then she gave me a good long lecture about not having any kids yet at the age of 33, that was certainly a joy. Do you think anything I have written here could be a sign of endometriosis or other problems? Would it be worth getting a second opinion? Anyone know how I can get a recommendation for a good doctor in France? Thanks for any advice...
