hi, this is my first(and probably last) time doing this. but i wanted to say something to those who are wary of taking lupron and those who post their horror stories. lupron affects everyone differently. i had to take it, it wasn't optional. i was severely anemic ad would have ended up in the hospital and my schedule does not allow for that. i went into it with a positive attitude. my first three months on lupron, i had absolutely no side effects, no weight gain, no hot flashes, no bone pain, no mood swings, no nothing. i was pleased with the result fo the lupron treatment. shortly after the fourth shot, i did start getting the hot flashes and insomnia/sleep disturbances. and my joints ached a little bit. when that happened, i started using the patch again, just to help with the hot flashes and it worked wonders, without having to be on some other more powerful drug. i just got my 6th and last shot and i still feel great. no side effects. now, i cannot say what the long term effects, if any, will be. but i want to stress to those considering lupron, don't buy in to people's horror stories. weigh the benefit vs the potential detriment to you, as an individual. everybody is differnt. and those who already have other health issues might be even less tolerant of the drug. i am perfectly healthy, aside fromt he obg issues. lupron is a very serious and powerful drug. i am not saying that anyone should take it lightly. but i am sure there are more lupron success stories out there. it's just that we aren't on message boards lookng for a forum. we made our decision, did what we had to doa nd made the best of it. good luck to all.
