Hi lil,

I also have flank pain after bowel movements. And not only pain, but extreme weakness. I have to lie down for a bit afterwards. I've had adhesions before, probably from ovarian cysts or endo, that were lysed. I have pulling sensation also in my back when I bend to the side. It's all on the left side. The best days I have are days that I don't have a bowel movement. But the longer I go without having one, the more it hurts afterwards when I do. It burns and aches like a deep bruise or something. It makes me feel horrible. I'm often late for work due to this. It will take about 2-3 hours before I start feeling any better. I've had a colonoscopy which was ok except for an IBS diagnosis, of course, and a tight area that he had a hard time getting the scope through. The procedure hurt really bad while he was trying. I've had 4 laprascopic surgeries, the last one being a hysterectomy. I was hoping all pain would be gone after that, which the Pelvic Congestion I had was but this back pain that gets worse with Bowel Movement persists. The surgery did not help it at all. I had asked the surgeon to check for scar tissue/adhesions in that area, but I have the video of the surgery, and he did not check. Now I'm considering another surgery to have this checked. I've tried living with this, but it really affects my quality of life. I love to exercise, but it makes the pain worse. There's not much that doesn't make it worse. Laying on the couch all day is about the only thing. I've been sitting here doing research on the net about adhesions and endometriosis and Women's Health Care in general, and it's so depressing how poorly women with these types of problems gets treated by the medical field and how they just throw us from doctor to doctor, almost like just trying to get rid of us. It makes me so, so very mad!!!! Anyway, I hope you are doing better and my prayers are with everyone having to deal with these things.... Joyce
