Very weird - has this happened to you?

This is going to be candid... I am on birth control. I have endo and fibroids. I used to have dark spotting before my period but for the past 3 months my periods have been normal. My doctor is happy with my progress and doesn't want to see me again for another 6 months.

Last week I wore some control top panties. By the end of the day I was swollen and I couldn't get them off fast enough. The next day I started to feel menstrual cramps although my period wasn't due to start for another 5 days. The day after that I began spotting fresh blood. The spotting continued and gradually increased over the next couple days then the pain got worse. It got so bad at one point that it reminded me of a miscarriage that I experienced a year ago. I went to the bathroom and tried to have a bowel movement and while bearing down I felt a sensation like I was removing a tampon. Then "Galump" something solid fell into the commode. It was not a tampon, I didn't have one in. It was a very dark mass of folded membrane that did resemble a tampon in shape and size. Odder still, once that happened the pain began to diminish. The whole next day I expelled these dark red membrane clumps. Now I feel fine. My husband wants me to call the doctor but I feel fine now. What do you girls think?
