hair loss with continuous bc?From: Amy (anonymous@obgyn.net)Wed Jul 16 07:11:32 2003
All, Hello! I haven't been on the forum for awhile because I just couldn't keep up with all the email. I have a question: Is anyone taking continuous bc and finding their hair falling out? I was diagnosed with endo in 1995 and in Oct. 2002 started on continuous bc to help the endo. In the last month, I have noticed more than usual hair loss. My hair is now very short, so since it has been cut, I have never noticed hair loss until now. I used to have almost waist length hair and would lose some of it in the shower because I had so much hair, but what gives now? My hairdresser said it is an internal problem because it is coming out by the root instead of breaking off. I just had my thyroid tested and all is well there. The only thing I can think of is the endo and continuous bc? But I have been on continuous bc for almost a year and haven't had the hair loss until recently. I know Lupron can cause hair loss and I have taken Lupron, but that was two years ago. I did not lose hair while actively taking the Lupron. Anybody got any thoughts? It's not thinning or balding, but I am rather alarmed to find so much hair in my sink and tub. Thanks ladies! Hope everyone is having a pain free day! Amy Meyer
