Bladder Infections - To Lesley & MichelleFrom: Rachel (anonymous@obgyn.net)Thu Jul 10 21:04:14 2003
Lesley, whenever I stop eating yogurt every day I get a urinary tract infection. Try eating a high protein, low carb yogurt every day (organic if you can) with active cultures, and push the water. Keep track of how much water you're drinking, quit pop and coffee. When I'm at work I keep track on a post-it how many glasses of water I've had to drink. I make sure I get in 8 during the day, and one more glass in the evening. When I drink this much water and eat yogurt every day, I totally avoid urinary tract infections. If I drink pop, avoid water, and stop the yogurt, I have an infection within a week. Hope this helps you. Michelle, if you feel like you're peeing razorblades, you most likely have a urinary tract infection. Call your doctor asap before it moves to your kidneys. You'll have to pee in a cup, and they'll test it for infection, and you'll be put on antibiotics. It's the only way to get rid of it. If it feels like razorblades, it's already pretty bad, so cranberry juice and water won't cut it. Also, try the yogurt and lots of water that I recommended to Lesley. Hope you're well.
-- Rachel
