Re: supporting a person with endo

You are correct in stating that this illness truly affects the lives of people who care for the one diagnosed with endo. It is very difficult to distinguish the difference between emotional side effects and natural emotional struggles due to the endo's plague on life. I myself experience struggles because I am angry about the disease, I am sad because it involves others, I am confused because I don't know how to get rid of it, and I feel absolutely worthless because I can never seem to reach goals, or even clean the house for that matter. I feel that you, being a loved one of someone diagnosed with endo, should continue to show your support through whatever means you want to express it. I don't think that you should quit expressing your care and concern for fear of upsetting her because we really do appreciate all of the support- although we don't always show it! Good luck!

If you are compassionate and understanding, she hurts because she doesn't want you too worry about her. If you leave her alone it is almost like she is depressed because she can't accomplish what goals she had set for herself before this illness. If she is not hurting from pain, she is hurting because she hurts people around her. She will say if she is not in physical pain she is in emotional pain. She pushes the people away that love and want to be there for her. How do you know when it is the illness or the hormones to treat the illness? Are there a list of support groups online anywhere? I would love to know how to help, but I seem to always be doing the wrong thing. It is definitely an emotional roller coaster and I am not even the one who has the illness. Are there any homeopathic or natural remedies that help. I read everything and get no where. Such contradiction, if one thing works for one it doesn't for the other.
