Re: Not a guinea pigFrom: anonymous (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sun Jun 29 18:28:01 2003
>this doctor criticizes and bashes everything that my original doctor has done.< Any doctor that puts a patient on Lupron to "diagnose" Endo should be bashed. The ONLY studies that support this approach are put out by shockingly enough, TAP advisors and their fellow ilk. There are no empirical, unbiased studies supporting this absurd method. Would you give a patient radiation therapy for 6 mons. on the supposition that she MIGHT have cancer??
>I'm too young to be on Lupron and the treatment is too aggressive.< How old are you? Lupron is not intended for 18 or under.
>do a laparoscopy.< That's the only way to truly diagnose Endometriosis.
>Shouldn't she rule out other possible causes first?< Your first doctor didn't bother to. Try the oral contraceptives for a while and see if that helps the symptoms. There is no cure for Endometriosis, but they might help you.
>>Can I tell her that I do not want a student in the room.< Hell, yes. You are not a piece of meat in the butcher shop window to be gawked at. If she refuses to stop that practice, get another doctor.
