Hi Lulu, I know exactly how you feel when your doctor tells you what is the cause of pain, but that he can't really do anything for you. I am only repeating what Kristy has already said, but your endo is not too far gone for surgery. Your doctor is not skilled at using the laser for excision, and that is good of him to tell you that, but there are surgeons that specialize in removing endo with the laser using excision. Your surgery is NOT too far gone for surgery with the laser. It is too far gone for surgery the way your surgeon uses the laser! Your surgeon uses the laser to ablate, or burn the surface and for deep tissue disease, this is not sufficient. If you choose to have surgery for endo, you need to make sure that it is a doctor who specializes in excision, not ablation. If you need some recommendations, or more info on this, please email me.

I have stage IV endo and was diagnosed with it in 1999, after 6 years of terrible suffering. I have just had my second surgery, because the surgeon I chose the first time, did surgery by ablation and left a lot of deep tissue disease behind. Educate yourself about the disease and find a surgeon that can truthfully HELP you. Also, I wanted to tell you that alot of women find relief from taking Zoladex, but relief is generally very short lived and the side effects can be awful. For extensive and deep tissue disease, studies have been found to report that relief is very limited. Think this through very carefully.

Good Luck! Kim brittain@kwcom.net
