Michelle, this theory you suggest, Retrograde Bleeding, is only one of the many theories behind the cause of endo. Granted, it's likely that what many of us are dealing with, but there are too many factors involved to talk about that as the only cause. In fact, a very small percentage of men who have received female hormones as therapy for medical conditions have developed endometriosis implants. Strange, but true. There are theories suggesting that a predisposition for the disease begins while we're developing in the womb.
