Endometriosis and Hysterectomy at 32From: anonymous (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue Jun 10 19:08:16 2003
Hi. I have many gynelogical issues and don't know where to start. I will start at the end. Is hysterectomy the most sensible answer for my situation? I have had 4 cervical procedures due to HPV. I have endometriosis (diagnosed 5 years ago but I expect I have had it since my first terrible period) and lost one ovary and fallopian tube. After two more ectopic pregnancies in the last year and half, i have lost the other tube. I now have just the one lone ovary which seems not to be working properly either. I've seen an infertility specialist and have been told that there are not enough ovarian follicles to remove eggs for invito fertilization. Unless I have a great deal of money and an egg donor, it appears that pregnancy is not an option for me. I have come to terms with these things, the best that I can. My periods are incredibly intense making me very sick and tired much of the time. Due to the endometriosis, which is a level or stage 4. Since my body is quite dysfunctional, I feel that a hysterectomy might be the path for me. I need more info and opinions on this. Please respond, I physically hurt a great deal of the time and want to move on and feel better in general. I have heard so many opinions on hysterectomy that I don't know what to believe. Thanks so much for your time and insight and opinions.
