Susan,

The one anon was talking about transvaginal sonograms. This is where the wand of the ultrasound is sent up thru the vagina like as if we are having a pelvic exam. That's why the empty bladder.

For transabdominal that is where the water is needed. Transabdominal is best for checking for kidney and bladder issues.

You are so right about the uncomfortable feeling with drinking the full amount of water for those transabdominal sonos.
