Re: danger of ultrasound with endo

I have never heard of this before (emptying right before the test). They want the bladder full so that it *floats* and is lifted up off the other organs so they can get a clear picture of the uterus, ovaries etc. After 30 years of ultrasounds I know just how much water I need and how long before the test for them to get clear pictures and it is never as much as they tell me to drink. I usually only need about 2/3 of what they tell me and I am usually still drinking as I arrive for the appointment. I used to drink it all and finish an hour before the appt. as I was told and was in absolute agony. Over the years I simply started cutting down on the amount until I found the right combination of quantity of water and time and now it is nowhere near as uncomfortable as it used to be. However, everyone is different.
