Tina,

Hold off on the Hysterectomia until you do some research. I am having a similar situation. Stage 3 endo on the bowel, lasered. Depot lupron 5 months w/ alysese + 2 months lupron only. Lupron worked some, but not great. I have to take pain killers to have sex. We don't bother anymore. 30 pounds underweight. Found out my lap was done wrong, and wrong drug given for add back therapy while on lupron. My doctor did one thing that was worth the lap, he destroyed the nerves that caused my menstral cramps.

I found out that excision should have been done instead of laser on organs. The laser can cause adhesions and it doesn't remove the endo on organs. Laser is only ok for ovaries and certain pelvic areas. There is a correlation between adhesions and the expertise of the surgeon. Dr. Redwine only thinks excision should be performed. You have to get an experienced surgeon (100+ surgeries/year), because the gyns consider attack of organs rare. Hysterectomia will not help, if the lap was not done properly.

You could possibly have a problem with your colon; however, IBS is often a symtom of endo. Read some of the information from Dr. Redwine and Dr. Franklin, experts on endo. I am reading the medical papers to learn what I can and have talked to different gyns. The Endometriosis Association has a list of doctors that sponsor the EA and information. (http://www.endo-online.org)

Let me know if your doctor found endo on your colon. I have a lot of information about diets and nutrition to help control intestines.
