First some background, since I don't write here much anymore.... Diagnosed stage 3 endo, in Dec. after many many years of being told the pain was in my head. Doctor lasered as much as he could. Lost my job, almost lost my husband, and felt like i didn't even know my kids. Started Depot Lupron w/Aygestin in January. I felt great for a couple of months, maybe months 2, 3, & 4. Just got my 6th shot a week ago, yesterday. I have been in pain since my 5th shot. When I went for the 6th shot I saw the doctor. Told him, I am hurting again. Although, he seemed to sympathize, I am not quite sure he understood what I was telling him.... SO, with my husband in the room (he's only 27) I told the doctor, no i don't think you understand... I CAN NOT HAVE SEX!!! Maybe that loudly. I get to stop using Lupron, and try a birth control pill, for three months. If that doesn't work I will be scheduled for a HYSTERECTOMY. I took Lupron because that seemed to be the most drastic option (other than Hyst)... it was supposed to produce the best possible results... no pain for months and months (if not years). Question, IF lupron was the best... and it didn't work, what exactly does the doctor think will happen with a pill that is estrogen and progestin? How will something with hormones I don't want in my body help me? When I asked the doctor those exact questions he responded by saying we just want to stop your periods... and hopefully that will stop the pain.... My only thought..... It hasn't helped me thus far... no periods for 6 months!!!!!! My problem is... It hurts to have bowel movements (or just gas passing). I CANNOT have sex at all, even arousal seems to cause pain, without penetration. I tried changing my diet, losing weight, exercising, praying and yelling at God, even toxic medication. I AM SICK OF BEING SICK! Sorry, and thanks for letting me vent. Please help me figure out my next step. My husband want me to try the pills. I can not take time off work for another surgery. We need my income to pay our bills.
