Lap Surgery & IBS

Tina, Your message sounds exactly like what I'm going through. I just had surgery on May 8th, which was day 10 of my cycle. There was no endo found this time, but I did have a lot of adhesions wrapped around my intestines. I will be seeing my doctor tomorrow. I am not on any antispasmotic drug yet, but I also am losing lots of weight. I get horrible abdominal pain that always ends up in diarrhea. In fact, in the last week I had 4 days where I "had to" get to the bathroom and didn't have any notice. My husband is really getting frustrated because we were hoping that after surgery this would no longer be happening. Becky Which week of your menstral cycle was your lap surgery performed? I am evaluating doctors and want to make sure the surgery is done right this time. I think adhesions formed on my colon after the last lap (laser abligation). I have been told that I would need excission surgery and possibly a bowel resection. Also, any advice on controlling IBS or abdominal pain for those with colon problems. I have changed my diet and use Metamucil daily. I am currently using Pamine as an antispasmotic drug (Robinul Forte isn't strong enough), but it isn't working well either. Losing too much weight and I am already 30 pounds underweight. Thank you for your help. Tina
