-- Hi-I have taken Lupron for my endo. I was diagnosed in 1990, had my 1st lap that year and took a round of Syneral for 6 months. I was in menopause for a year total, bad side effects. Did birth control therapy (no period) for years and had 2nd lap in 96. Again, birth control therapy for years. Started Lupron Sept of 2000 until March of 2001-I was one of the unfortunate ones that had little results with alot of side effects with it. Had to take alot of medicine to combat side effects-3 for bone loss, 1 for headaches (hormones), 1 for hot flashes and pain pills in the 1st 2 months because it actually makes you hurt MORE int he beginning. I have to say, I wouldn't do it again ever and wish I hadn't. Had alot of side effects including weight gain. However, it does work for some people. My concern is that you haven't even had a Lap to diagnose you yet and your Dr has jumped straight to one of the stronger forms of treatment orally-I would NOT go back to that Dr (I learned to get over hurting their feelings long ago-it takes a few times to find the right Dr sometimes) and go for a second and maybe even a 3rd opinion. Endometriosis can't even be diagnosed definately without a lap-I can explain that later if you want to mail me. But, there are so many less severe forms of treatment avaliable, Lap or not. If you have any questions, please feel free to write me-Amy
