Hello all, I am 21, and have had Chrondomalacia for over 10 years unknowingly. I have recently been diagnosed with this condition only last week. My Dr. told me to get knee braces with the knee hole opening, which I have done, and to avoid stairs, squatting, and all other bending activities. He did not explain to me too much of what it was, but I did get something about the cartilage being messed up, and my knee caps moving too much when my legs are straight. He told me to come back in a month and if the pain has not subsided that we will talk about Orthoscopic Surgery. But he never told me if I would have to where these braces forever, if I don't have the surgery. I just don't know what is going on here. I have 2 small children, and it is killing me that I can't pick my children up when the want me to. If anyone has any suggestions as what I should do, please post it. Thank you, Crystal
