Hi Caroline, In the US the drug is called Lupron. Zoladex is another one of the same kind of drug. Natural progesterone cream is a very good alternative treatment, however, it will not stop you from menstruating. Quite the opposite in fact, it will regulate your periods. Because it is the same hormone as your body makes naturally, it does not generally produce the side effects that the synthetic progestins cause. I have used it to control my endo for 9 years and it has been wonderful. Periods are not a problem if the endo is controled. But switching to the natural hormone would require a short time of adjustment. I got relief the very first month I used it but some women take a few months to see results. Good luck.
