Is sex painful for you? If so, where? When? Could be TMI...From: Annie (anonymous@obgyn.net)Wed May 14 15:12:25 2003
Good afternoon, My name is Annie and I was diagnosed with endo in October after laparoscopy. I had been in increasingly bad pain since the March earlier, when I first noticed the "bad" pain. It was right when my husband and I got married, and a few times on our honeymoon I had to stop sex because of the excruciating pain I was in. That is what started my frequent trips to the doctors, because I am a newlywed and I could hardly have sex with my husband, not fair! So then I was dx'd in October, and the pain during sex has not subsided. I have opted to not treat my endo in any way right now, we are planning on trying to get pregnant early this fall, and I am not happy with what our options are for treatment, so I opted for none. Part of my endo is on my left ureter and arteries, it was left in place due to the danger in removing it. My appendix was removed as it was covered in endo, and had some in my cul-de-sac, which was lasered. After my recovery period from the lap, I still have very painful sex. My husband cannot penetrate me very fax without me wincing in pain, and making him "pull out". The sex is so painful that it has actually caused a rift between us because its gotten to the point where I dont ever want to do it. He is very understanind when we are having sex and is very sensitive to my discomfort, but he cannot understand why I dont want to alllll the time (like him). My pain is near and above my cervix, but more internal than that, more like in my cul-de-sac, and also farther up into my abdomen, around the area of my uterus and into where my endo was left (ureter and arteries). I would like to know from other women with endo if sex is painful, if so does it hurt everytime you do it? Does it stop you from wanting it? Can you handle deep penetration? What do you do to help with the pain? Meds? Relaxation during sex? Different positions? If so, what positions? I know that this is a personal subject and answers may be too personal for you to post, so feel free to email me privately at annie_01976@yahoo.com anytime. Thank you for your time! Annie
