Re: Danazol/Danocrine side effectsFrom: Amanda (anonymous@obgyn.net)Thu May 8 13:43:15 2003
Hi, I was on Danazol/Danocrine for a couple of months after I had such severe side effects from Lupron that I could not continue to take it. Unfortunately my experience with Danazol was not any better. Sorry to have to give you such bad news but it is only fair that you know what could happen to you. For one thing, my pain got worse when I switched from Lupron to Danazol. I was in just as bad pain as I was before my surgery. So Danazol did nothing good for me. I probably gained a few pounds, and I did noticed a few dark hairs growing (mostly on my legs, so it was easy enough to shave off). The big problem I had with Danazol was that it made me severely depressed, almost crazy. I had severe anxiety and panic attacks, which I never had before in my life. Nor have I had them since I stopped taking Danazol. I also couldn't remember anything. I did everything I know to do in order to combat depression (regular exercise, taking herbs, etc...) but it got so bad my doc took me off. If you want to read more of my story, and how I got better, look for me on the Endo Quilt. It is under Miss Amanda M Falk. Good luck Love, Amanda
