Bone loss with Lupron VS SynarelFrom: Kayla (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sat May 3 16:26:10 2003
I am curious to hear what you have witnessed in your own practices/experiences. I have stage IV endo and was put on Synarel for six months. Afterwards when my symptoms returned, my OBGYN thought of putting me back on Synarel b/c it helped. However, when I had the bone scan it showed significant bone loss(T-score something around -1.75). Recently in a lecture by a guest OBGYN in my Biology of Women class, he mentioned that he has found that more women have bone loss with Synarel than with Lupron. He explains that Lupron stays in your system at a steady level while Synarel's levels jump around b/c somedays it can vary how much actually gets into your system. Have you found this to be true? What are your opinions about treating stage IV after a laparoscopy? Six-months of Lupron/Zoladex? Just curious....
