Re: Pain relief: who takes what and how much

Heather, I feel the same way. I would love to hear my vacuum and wash my floors. Doing some laundry would be a big thing. I am like you, stuck in bed or on the couch. I don't have any children to worry about though.

I went to the ER Sunday to get a demerol shot. The doctor there told me to take Vicoden every three hours to stay ahead of the pain. He even told me to set my alarm at night so I won't miss a dose. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. I have been on everything from Vioxx to Bextra from Darvacet to Oxycontin. I was even on Fentenyl patches. Everything and I just have not found the right thing for me. I even tried stuff like TENS units and heating pads. I have been kept in the hospital for as long as 17 days. I can't work and life is anything but normal.

I wish you the best of luck and hope that you are able to find help soon. Kristen
