Consultants visitFrom: Karine (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue Apr 29 11:32:22 2003
Hi I wonder if anyone could offer me some advice. I went to a Well Woman clinic a few months back as I had really bad period pains (off work every month vommiting, eating pain killers like sweeties! even fainted last time)She said I potentially had endo. I was then sent to a consultant, this took 2 months and in the interim I went on the pill. This has reduced my pain to almost nothing (well compared to what it was) as soon as the consultant heard my pain had receded that was as good as the end of the consultation. He never asked me what my period pains were like if I had any family history of endo or other gyno problems (my mum aunt and grandmother all had fibroids which resulted in hysterectomies) His tactic is that if your pain goes away on the pill then everything is fine. I am consdering seeking a second opinion. Would anyone have any thoughts on this, should I just accept what he says or should I investigate further? Thanks
