diagnoised with endo: elected partial hysterectomy

Hi ladies There are so many of you that want information on endo and hysterectomy that I figured I would tell you about my hysterectomy. First of all I was diagnoised with stage 2 endo in dec 2002 and I also had fibroids, between the pain and my heavy horrible periods it was easy for me to decide to have a superacervical abdominal hysterectomy. I already had 2 children and had tied my tubes 8 yrs ago (btw I'm only 34). I had a lap in dec. 2002 but as soon as I ovulated again the pain was back. Like most of you all I didn't want to live my life on narcotic pain killers. My hysterectomy was scheduled for feb. 4, 2003 so I'm only 11 1/2 wks post op. I kept my ovaries and cervix. But I have to say the pain has decreased to almost nothing. Because I kept my ovaries I know that I still have a chance that the endo could come back. But I wasn't ready to go into full blown menopause at 34. So far so good. No periods, no bad cramps, my PMS has eased up considerably. My biggest complaint is that I get so tired still. And that at almost 3mths post op my lower belly is still tender, slightly sore and a little swollen.

Hopes this helps Julie
