Re: Period after Lupron

Hi,

I had a lap in March 2000 and was on Lupron until about September of 2000. My doctor told me this about Lupron: "For patients who have the laparoscopy and six months of treatment with Lupron, 40% say they are still pain free two years after surgery." That means within two years of surgery, even with Lupron treatment, 60% of patients experience recurrence of pain.

For me, my pain recurred two months after my surgery, even though I was STILL getting the shots of Lupron. So your story is probably pretty typical. You should tell your doctor, though. Good luck.

Hi, I haven't login for a few weeks. As I said before I was in Lupron Injection and finished in Janurary. I was fine but I just got my period for the first time after so many months and I have pain. I thought that Lupron was going to work for while. I understood that Lupron didn't remove the Endo I alredy have but will prevent Endo. If anyone has a better definition of Lupron, please reply. I'm really interested in getting more information or what should I do now. I"m afraid of the pain; when I have my period I have such a strong pain that I'm not able to work for 2 days. Today I came to work even I have pain but its not so bad maybe becuase is the first period since Lupron in January. Please help. thanks!
