We are all bought up as children to believe that when we are sick you go to the doctors and they will fix it - it is hard to accept there are areas of medicine that may not be able to be cured - however this is not anyones fault to carry. Also remember that aside from the physical effects of endo there are the highly underrated mental effects that must also be addressed at some stage. Remember that there is still alot of background social pressure on women that make us believe that endo makes us feel as if we are failures, for instance from other women who still believe that you must suffer in silence, from mothers that never had the same problems, from social ideals that still place the importance of a women being tied to childbirth, from medical people who tell you that the drug has worked for other people, from medical people who tell you they cannot explain why the endo has regrown in you (forgetting to mention that this occurs in a % of women), when the medicine provided causes side effects (with again the drs forgetting to inform you about the possibility of this, when IVF doe not work for you, when you believe that you let your partner down if children are not produce. To fight Endo women have to draw on inner strength, you need to accept that it is not a sign of failure but a medical reality, try to educate those around you however if this effort is rejected you need to distance them from involvement, you need to control the drs not them control you. This is greatly helped by ensuring someone accompanies you to your appointments (drs are used to the control mechanism of one on one, Dr providing help to patient requiring help, it always changes this bond if a third person is there, the third person can also be relied on to ask questions when at times you are in so much pain you can forget to ask or and listen. Most of all you have to really believe that it is not your fault, learn all you can before any appoinments as information is power and spend time in reflecting your feelings about the disease so that you can mentally become stronger to deals with all the issues surrounding this disease so they may be put in perspective and in some cases to bed. Good luck
