I'm desperate! Thank you! Firstly any treatment should be taken after discussions with your doctor to take into consideration any other medical conditions and/or drugs in use. Medical Anti-prostaglandin Drugs that block the production and action of prostaglandins in the uterus which are the prime cause of uterine contractions (primary Dysmenorrhoea)eg asprin, ibuprofen. To be effective however they must be taken at the first sign of cycle (whether this be bleeding or pain) Natural Essential fatty acid supplements, Evening primrose 2000 to 3000 milligrams and MaxEPA (1 daily)relax the uterine muscle. Also vitamins B3, B6 and E. Minerals calcium and magnesium.
