Advice NeededFrom: Becky (anonymous@obgyn.net)Mon Mar 31 07:44:19 2003
Hi Everyone, I'm in need of some support and advice. I have had endo for over 20 years now, but never had anything done until a year and a half ago. My GYN did a laparoscopy and then I was on Lupron for 5 months. Since the Lupron, the endo had gotten really bad. My GYN pretty much told me that the pain is in my head, so I switched to a new GYN. She would not take me on as a patient without my seeing a specialist. So, last Thursday my husband and I made an hour and a half trip to see an endocrinologist. He seemed wonderful and understood my pain! My husband and I have been trying to conceive for over 3 years, and this specialist really believes that he can get us pregnant! Anyway, I am scheduled for a laparoscopy and D&C on April 11th. The specialist will be performing the surgery so we will be driving the hour and a half to the hospital. (I hope they give me something "good" to keep me comfortable on the say home!) Have others that have had a lap found that a week is enough recovery time? I remember when I had my first lap done, it was painful to sit for an extended amount of time. I also have 15 steps coming up into my office and am wondering if that will cause a problem. My boss is wonderfully understanding about this. Oh, the endocrinologist believes that the endometriosis is now on my bowels. Has anyone else experienced this? Is it difficult to remove it from this area? Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Becky
