Re: any advice on HRT and removal of ovaries with hysterectomyFrom: Peggy (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sat Mar 29 01:41:17 2003
Dear Yvette, I had a complete hysterectomy (uterus, tubes,&overies) 3 years ago when I was 34. They gave me HRT right away and I continued to be in constant pain. After doing a lot of reading I decided to stop taking them all together. The hot flashes were sometimes almost unbearable so I would take some for awhile but one thing I noticed was that the pain would go away when i stopped taking them for awhile. Then when I started them again the pain returned. The doctors don't beleive me but I really don't care. I finally just decided to survive threw the hot flashes and now i only have them once in awhile and they're really mild and the best thing is I finally have pain free days. I had Stage IV endo and was is constant pain for years prior to my hysterectomy so for me it was a good decision. I just take supplements of calcium to care for my bones. I will pray for you and this very tough decision. I know how hard it is to make. I hope my experience will help you in your decision. Take care and God Bless, Peggy At Fri, 28 Mar 2003, Yvette wrote: > >I'm 30 yrs old. For the first time my pap came back abnormal.
