They are very pessimistic people in all aspects of their lives and ignore any "success" stories that come from surgery, or any success story for that matter. My in-laws did not go to doctors for decades and regard that as "proof" that no one needs to go. Now they are in their early 70's and suffering from conditions that probably could have been prevented if they underwent regular screenings when they were younger. They now have to go to doctors practically every day!. My own parents, who are actually older than my in laws are, went for regular screenings and checkups and are in much better health as a result of doing some preventative medicine, and usually only see a doctor for annual physicals. I hope your future is free of pain soon- good luck !
