Thank you so much for responding to my post, and for your advise. I can't say that I haven't considered Lupron, because I have. I think that I just want to make sure that I have explored all of my options and have tried everything first before I try Lupron. I am hoping for the best. Question: I know that when you have 1 ovary removed you still have your hormones from the remaining ovary, but did you notice and changes hormonally in your self? Do you feel pretty normal now? How long has it been since you have taken Lupron? >Hi Amy -
>I've too just started posting but I wanted to respond since your situation sounds a lot like mine. I had an emergency laporotomy where they had to remove my right ovary in Dec. 2000 when I was 23. I too, wouldn't do Lupron and tried to change my diet, etc. but 4 months later all the endo was back w/cysts, etc. and I ended up having my 2nd laporotomy in June 2001. After 2 surgeries I decided I didn't care how bad the Lupron was and that I couldn't be having surgeries every couple months - besides, my doc told me my left ovary won't survive another surgery. I ended up being on Lupron for 1.5 yrs. and now am starting continuous bc's and it worked great for me. I am definitely not pushing Lupron here - from what I've read it sounds like a lot of people have had really horrible experiences so I'm not sure if I was just lucky or what but I just wanted to let you know what worked for me. Good luck! I hope you find relief.
