Re: One Ovary is damagedFrom: D.N. (anonymous@obgyn.net)Fri Feb 28 09:04:32 2003
Hi, I had a similiar situation, but I was having a hysterectomy at the time. My right ovary was fine. After the surgery, my right ovary ovulated like normal. A year and a half after that surgery, my right one was covered in endo and adhesions. I would suspect, if you are trying to get pregnant, you should talk to your doc about this and see if they can help. Women can get pregnant if they have just one ovary, but it does become a concern when you have endo and you don't want to lose that ovary too. Your body will only have the one ovary to stimulate to ovulate. It can happen monthly. It did for me (even out of just a remnant of an ovary) until I became perimenopausal. Best wishes, D.N.
