Lupron is a category X drug, which means you **must not** be pregnant or become pregnant during the therapy. Cat. X means that the extent of the dangers of Lupron to the fetus are not entirely known, but have been shown to have seriously adverse effects in clinical studies. Your doctor had a responsibility to tell you this. You should have been advised to use a barrier method during your therapy; just because Lupron stops your period it doesn't necessarily mean you can't become pregnant (as you obviously know). This is also outlined very clearly in the patient literature and prescribing information that comes with the drug when you first start getting your shots, which patients are expected to read. Don't take my word for it, visit TAP's website yourself and see the dangers about pregnancy and Lupron. "Lucky?" I don't know about that. Sounds like your doc is either irresponsible, uninformed or just doesn't care - or maybe all 3. Good luck to you and the baby, seriously.
