Monica,

The reason for the addback is b/c not everyone on Lupron can handle the hot flashes, etc that can occur with it. So by giving a low dosage addback with estrogen in it then hopefully the woman will feel relief from that but the dosage of the estrogen won't bother the Lupron as to what it is trying to do.

I did a medicine similar to Lupron called Zoladex and was on addback also but not b/c of the potential menopausal side effects from taking it but b/c I have arthritic knees. The arthritic knees have been like this since I was 19 and I'm now 31.

As one of the girls explained to me one time addback along with Lupron doesn't help everyone but it sure helped me with my knees.

I hope that this helps explain it.
