It is generally a sign to me the my endo is coming back. Another sign for me is color. When my endo acts up my period is brown and clotty, after surgery it is thin and red. Not meaning to get too gross on you, one time I somehow passed a big brown clot the size of a golfball. Perfectly round too. It baffeled me to no end. Feel free to e-mail me privatly...
