Re: Severe bleeding and clotting....From: Amy (anonymous@obgyn.net)Thu Jan 23 07:41:39 2003
Marjorie, Yes, I'm sure that most people would switch pills if spotting a lot, but I have been down this road before and while the Lo Ovral causes me to spot occasionally, other types of pills cause my endo to get worse, cause extreme migraines, and make me sick. Lo Ovral is about the only kind I tolerate. I also understand that spotting and bleeding can happen more often if taking continuous-just part of the "fun". My Doc has told me that it can take several months for the body to adjust to continuous therapy, which I have only been on for a few months. Plus, with Endo, I spot at all kinds of strange times, for example after sexual intercourse or exercise, which has nothing to do with my birth control pills. For ME!, it is a personal choice to live with the spotting in order to take a pill that doesn't cause all the other problems. I appreciate the concern, but this is personal decision made between myself and my doctor. I would encourage all other women to talk with their doctors if spotting is occuring. Hugs! Amy Meyer
