aromatase inhibitors.........an opinionFrom: dollbabi (anonymous@obgyn.net)Thu Jan 16 07:38:36 2003
What I have looked up from the info and search items that I have been given doesn't convince me. From what I have saw, they have printed the results of the study of 1 woman that is post-menopausal. We all know that a scientific study/survey, involves many people in order to get an accurate result. I think that this is a wonderful start. Where is there "study" from UIC that they were going to do?? I can't find the results anywhere so far. I think that much more research needs to be done on this, it could be something worth seriously looking at. Right now though they are saying that it would work on post-menopausal women, not using hormones, because pre-menopausal women have their ovaries producing estrogen. That leaves ALOT of women out there still with what few options they already had. Those are the larger % of women needing to find relief. I am fairly new to menopause, and I sure never thought I would be there at the age of 25. I am hoping that the hysterectomy took care of my endo....they also removed all the endo. that was in there that they could see, and he looked really good according to my friend that was working in the OR with him that day. I just wish they could find a treatment where women wouldn't have to make such hard decisions at ages where they shouldn't have to.
