Re: aromatase inhibitors

Just a note about this AstraZeneca, if they are the ones who make aromatase inhibitors.

AstraZeneca is also the company that manufacturers Zoladex, a GnRH agonist, the equivalent of Lupron. They are being sued by the government for giving illegal kickbacks and other lucrative incentives to doctors for pushing their drug Zoladex to treat prostate cancer (it's now also used for endometriosis).

See this article:

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A41546-2002Sep19.html

So just my personal opinion -- I would be a little skeptical of any of their drugs. As Dr. Cook points out in the article listed below, we do not yet know if aromatase inhibitors produce an acceptable level of side effects. They work similarly to GnRH agonists like Lupron, except they are supposed to be more effective. This also means they are more powerful. So I would be worried that they would have just as many side effects if not more. This is just my opinion -- obviously I have never tried them.
