Lauren,
Eating soy does nothing to affect levels of real estrogen in our bodies,
up or down. Phytoestrogens will bind to the estrogen receptors in our
bodies and thus block the access of the real hormone and its stronger
effects. But women react differently to this and to different
phytoestrogenic herbs. Soy can be dangerous in other ways, though, and
should be eaten in moderation. Please take a look at this article
http://www.johnleemd.net/articles/soy-01.html.
